manga

First published in 1998, the epic samurai manga series "Vagabond" is a series drawn from award-winning Takehiko Inoue after the popular manga series "Slam Dunk". The manga is based on the 1935 Japanese classic Musashi Eiji Yoshikawa, the widely circulated novel by the 17th century swordsman Miyamoto Musashi. But the writer did not content himself with a narration as the only and final reference to his story, adding subplots to the original story.

Musashi is a ruthless fighter striving to achieve spiritual enlightenment, and a search for wisdom - perhaps the book emphasizes action. Takehiko Inoue's manga's drawings are classified as violent, but violence is only one aspect of this dark series. Following Musashi's path from solitary beast to saint and wise hermit, Takehiko Inoue as Musashi reaches the heart of the legendary monk. A look through the historical background of that period in feudal Japan is thoroughly explored through The Journey of a Vagabond Samurai.

The Vagabond manga has sold more than 80 million copies worldwide and has been translated into many languages. She has a very large fan base. Unfortunately, the series is currently on hiatus after Takehiko Inoue stated that he had been tired of manga for years, but promised to return when he felt "inspired." The manga ranked fourth on myanimelist.
